As a Student Attendance Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting excellent student attendance and supporting students and families to develop positive habits. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students and families to encourage high attendance.
  • Conduct home visits as required to engage with families and support attendance improvement.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to implement strategies that promote consistent student attendance.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them overcome barriers to attendance.
  • Collaborate with staff across the school to ensure a coordinated approach to attendance and pastoral care.
  • Monitor and report on attendance trends and outcomes.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the overall pastoral care environment of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or support role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Experience in working with young people and families.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.

Preferred

  • Experience in attendance support or student welfare roles.
  • Knowledge of educational frameworks and pastoral care practices.
  • Experience in conducting home visits or community engagement.
  • Understanding of Christian values and ethos.
