The Opportunity:

As the Head of Physical Education, you will lead and inspire a dynamic PE department across the school, promoting excellence in sport, wellbeing, and academic achievement. This is a key leadership role for an experienced and passionate educator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the PE department across the whole school
• Inspire students and staff through high-quality teaching and leadership
• Ensure excellent teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery in PE
• Support, develop, and line manage members of the department
• Lead quality assurance, assessment, and departmental improvement planning
• Promote participation and excellence in sport, including tournaments and extracurricular activities
• Manage departmental resources, facilities, and budget effectively

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A Bachelor’s Degree and Qualified Teacher Status
• Proven experience teaching within the British curriculum
• Evidence of excellent classroom practice and strong academic outcomes
• Previous leadership or coordination experience within PE

Preferred

• Experience in managing a large PE department
• Strong understanding of sports development and extracurricular programs
• Commitment to student wellbeing and holistic education
