The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dynamic Chemistry Teacher to join its dedicated team. This role involves teaching both the IBDP and IGCSE curricula, with opportunities to contribute to Biology and Science courses in Secondary. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons and support their academic and personal growth in a collaborative and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the IBDP and British curriculum.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student academic progress.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and respect.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and academic progress.
  • Guide students in individual projects such as CAS and the Extended Essay.
  • Support students as a form tutor, monitoring their academic and emotional wellbeing.
  • Stay updated with educational research and best practices to enhance teaching methods.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school's IB World School status.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Entitlement to work in the EU
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of student wellbeing and pastoral care
  • Proficient in English (C2 level)

Preferred

  • Experience teaching the IBDP or IGCSE curriculum
  • Knowledge of Cambridge and IB assessment methods
