Personal Assistant to Headmaster – Support the Headmaster of Senior School with administrative and organisational tasks.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support the Headmaster of Senior School (Years 9-13). This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the Headmaster’s office and the effective management of school activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Headmaster and contributing to the school’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to the Headmaster of Senior School
  • Manage and prioritise written, email, and telephone communications
  • Prepare, proofread, and distribute letters, reports, and correspondence
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper records and documentation
  • Coordinate diaries, meetings, and appointments, including room bookings and hospitality
  • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contacts to support school operations
  • Assist with the organisation of school events, including Parents' Evenings and Open Days
  • Support the Headmaster in the management of school trips, inspections, and staff development processes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • British education or qualifications
  • Knowledge of the British education system, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and university application processes
  • Native-level English speaking ability
  • Previous experience in a personal assistant role
  • Experience working in an independent or international school
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure
  • Proficient in office software and database management
  • Experience using iSams
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to promote safeguarding and welfare of pupils

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Spanish
  • Flexibility, tact, diplomacy, and patience
  • Enthusiasm, energy, initiative, and a sense of humour
  • Experience with school operations and event coordination
