The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons that inspire and engage students.
- Plan and develop a broad and balanced curriculum aligned with school values.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support school-wide initiatives.
- Promote the Catholic ethos and values within the school community.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as appropriate.
- Support the personal and academic development of students through pastoral care and guidance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching History at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in History.
- Ability to speak fluent English (written and spoken).
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
- Full, unreserved support for the aims and ethos of the school.
Preferred
- Experience in a Catholic school or faith-based educational setting.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in teaching.
- Experience with safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Familiarity with the British values and their integration into the curriculum.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary: MPS/UPS
- Full-time position with consideration for 0.8 FTE
- Fixed-term position (maternity cover) until 18/12/2026
