The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mathematics education within a technical curriculum. You will support students in developing strong mathematical skills and applying them to real-world engineering challenges, preparing them for future academic and career success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality mathematics lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, integrating technical pathways and engineering principles.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the school’s integrated engineering and STEM curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure the highest possible outcomes for all learners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support a positive and cohesive school community.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and industry partnerships that enrich the student experience.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and student welfare policies at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 5 A*-C (or 9-4) grades at GCSE, including English and Maths.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Mathematics and its application within technical pathways.
  • Experience in delivering effective, engaging, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a UTC or similar technical and vocational education setting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools used in engineering and technical education.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development and innovation in STEM education.
