The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring History Teacher to join a successful and supportive faculty. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality History education across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to students across all key stages, ensuring engaging and effective lessons.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that promote critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of historical events.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Work collaboratively with the humanities faculty to develop and implement a dynamic curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in staff development and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to ensure continued improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for History.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a supportive school culture.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level History.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on a subject leadership role.
  • Experience with CPD and staff development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student engagement.
