Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of Social Science subjects including Sociology, Psychology, Health & Social Care, and Criminology.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking and student success.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practice and share best teaching strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Social Science subjects.
- Strong subject knowledge in Sociology, Psychology, Health & Social Care, and Criminology.
- Proven ability to raise student achievement and inspire a passion for learning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching to GCSE and A Level.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
