Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of Social Science subjects including Sociology, Psychology, Health & Social Care, and Criminology.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking and student success.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practice and share best teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Social Science subjects.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Sociology, Psychology, Health & Social Care, and Criminology.
  • Proven ability to raise student achievement and inspire a passion for learning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching to GCSE and A Level.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
