Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality history lessons that engage students and promote academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental and whole-school CPD initiatives.
- Support the development of students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds and with SEND.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational visits that enrich the learning experience.
- Participate in the refinement of curricula and pedagogy to improve student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment.
- Work closely with the subject leader to ensure the department continues to grow and improve.
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- UK Recognised QTS or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching history at key stages 4 and 5.
- Commitment to raising achievement and supporting disadvantaged students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in developing and leading CPD initiatives.
- Experience in planning and delivering educational visits.
- Experience in using innovative teaching methods and technologies.
