Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality history lessons that engage students and promote academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental and whole-school CPD initiatives.
  • Support the development of students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds and with SEND.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational visits that enrich the learning experience.
  • Participate in the refinement of curricula and pedagogy to improve student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment.
  • Work closely with the subject leader to ensure the department continues to grow and improve.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Recognised QTS or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching history at key stages 4 and 5.
  • Commitment to raising achievement and supporting disadvantaged students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in developing and leading CPD initiatives.
  • Experience in planning and delivering educational visits.
  • Experience in using innovative teaching methods and technologies.
