Summary:

Assistant Director of Science needed to lead and improve Science education across multiple schools.

As an Assistant Director of Science, you will play a key role in raising standards and driving improvement in Science education across multiple schools. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced and inspirational educator who wants to shape the future of Science teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Science departments in improving teaching and learning practices.
  • Develop and implement high-quality curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Mentor and coach teachers to build capacity and improve classroom practice.
  • Work closely with the Director of Science to drive pedagogical innovation.
  • Support Heads of Department in setting and achieving ambitious student outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of professional growth and self-evaluation within Science teams.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and intervention for students across KS3 to KS5.
  • Ensure consistent standards in behaviour for learning and alignment with the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience with outstanding classroom practice.
  • Proven track record of achieving excellent results at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum, assessment, and moderation.
  • Experience in educational leadership roles.
  • Ability to use data to drive improvement and support student progress.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Chemistry, with Biology and Physics specialists also considered.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development and teacher training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a multi-academy trust.
