Assistant Director of Science needed to lead and improve Science education across multiple schools.

As an Assistant Director of Science, you will play a key role in raising standards and driving improvement in Science education across multiple schools. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced and inspirational educator who wants to shape the future of Science teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Science departments in improving teaching and learning practices.
- Develop and implement high-quality curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Mentor and coach teachers to build capacity and improve classroom practice.
- Work closely with the Director of Science to drive pedagogical innovation.
- Support Heads of Department in setting and achieving ambitious student outcomes.
- Promote a culture of professional growth and self-evaluation within Science teams.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and intervention for students across KS3 to KS5.
- Ensure consistent standards in behaviour for learning and alignment with the school’s values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience with outstanding classroom practice.
- Proven track record of achieving excellent results at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum, assessment, and moderation.
- Experience in educational leadership roles.
- Ability to use data to drive improvement and support student progress.
Preferred
- Specialism in Chemistry, with Biology and Physics specialists also considered.
- Experience in leading curriculum development and teacher training.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a multi-academy trust.
