The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will support teachers and students by preparing laboratory equipment, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment, and contributing to high-quality science education. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for science and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for practical experiments
  • Ensure a safe and well-organised learning environment in science laboratories
  • Assist teachers with the setup and breakdown of experiments and demonstrations
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory
  • Support the implementation of health and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with staff to enhance the science curriculum and student engagement
  • Provide technical support during science lessons and extracurricular activities
  • Stay up to date with scientific developments and best practices in education

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment or willingness to be trained
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Keen interest in science and education

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of current science curriculum and teaching standards
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with teaching or supporting students in a school setting
