The Opportunity:

As a Humanities Teacher - Maternity Cover, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education in History, Geography, and RE. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative department focused on student success and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and knowledge-rich lessons in History, Geography, and RE.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through effective teaching strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Humanities subjects.
  • Strong knowledge of History, Geography, and RE curricula.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 3 and GCSE levels.
  • Commitment to student achievement and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience with Edexcel and AQA qualifications.
  • Familiarity with the Outwood Family teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
