Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons using a range of teaching strategies to engage all students.
  • Use student data to identify learning needs and develop targeted interventions to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
  • Support the implementation of innovative teaching methods and curriculum enhancements.
  • Work closely with technicians to deliver practical and engaging science lessons.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in a relevant science subject and a teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Confidence in using standard computer packages to support teaching and learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering T Level courses or similar vocational qualifications.
  • Experience with Assessment for Learning (AfL) strategies.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching methods.
