The Opportunity:

As an Inclusion Teacher EYFS/KS1, you will support pupils with additional needs in Early Years and Key Stage 1, ensuring they have access to a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for a passionate and dedicated practitioner committed to making a positive impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver targeted, high-quality support for pupils with additional needs in Early Years and Key Stage 1
  • Adapt and differentiate the EYFS and KS1 curriculum to meet a range of learning needs
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with clear, measurable targets
  • Support pupils to access learning both within and outside the classroom
  • Use inclusive strategies to support communication, engagement, and independence
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify pupils’ needs
  • Monitor, track, and evaluate pupil progress against targets
  • Write clear and informative reports, identifying next steps
  • Support pupils’ emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support wellbeing and engagement
  • Work closely with class teachers to identify needs and plan appropriate support
  • Liaise regularly with parents to support consistency between home and school
  • Collaborate with external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Support health and safety procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs in Early Years and/or KS1
  • Experience working with IEPs and targeted interventions

Preferred

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and how to adapt it for learners with additional needs
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and early intervention approaches
  • Familiarity with assessment and progress monitoring
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Willingness to provide personal care where required
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of behavioural and emotional needs
