Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, project-based learning experiences in Innovation Design & Engineering across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Manage a well-resourced department with access to advanced manufacturing tools and technologies.
- Support students in achieving outstanding GCSE and A-level results through practical, hands-on assessment routes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s reputation for excellence and innovation.
- Encourage student creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning through iterative design processes.
- Stay up to date with developments in design and engineering education and integrate new ideas into teaching practice.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Innovation Design & Engineering.
- Experience teaching Design & Technology at GCSE and A-level.
- Strong understanding of practical assessment methods and project-based learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with rapid prototyping, CNC machinery, and digital design tools.
- Background in engineering or design-related fields.
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on academic excellence and value-added outcomes.
- Ability to contribute to the development of a forward-thinking and innovative department.
