Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, project-based learning experiences in Innovation Design & Engineering across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Manage a well-resourced department with access to advanced manufacturing tools and technologies.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding GCSE and A-level results through practical, hands-on assessment routes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s reputation for excellence and innovation.
  • Encourage student creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning through iterative design processes.
  • Stay up to date with developments in design and engineering education and integrate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Innovation Design & Engineering.
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at GCSE and A-level.
  • Strong understanding of practical assessment methods and project-based learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with rapid prototyping, CNC machinery, and digital design tools.
  • Background in engineering or design-related fields.
  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on academic excellence and value-added outcomes.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of a forward-thinking and innovative department.
