A Teacher of Science is needed to support the Prep School's commitment to inspiring a love of science in young learners. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons to pupils aged up to 13+.
  • Foster a curiosity-driven approach to learning through practical investigations and real-world applications.
  • Support the development of science skills through hands-on experiments and interactive teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of science trips and workshops that enhance classroom learning.
  • Participate in the extra-curricular life of the school, including science clubs and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new teaching strategies and technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science subject degree and qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Science to children up to 13+.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a Prep School or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with Science-based extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or supporting diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of modern Science teaching methods and resources.
