The Opportunity:

As an IT Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s digital infrastructure and ensuring that staff and students have reliable access to technology. This role is essential to supporting effective teaching and learning in an increasingly digital educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain IT systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and students, resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Implement and monitor security measures in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Assist with network maintenance and system monitoring to ensure smooth operations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data management processes.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to support daily IT operations and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and promote a secure digital learning environment.
  • Help remove technical barriers and support the school’s digital learning objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in IT support and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and provide timely support.
  • Experience working in an educational setting or similar environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with implementing and monitoring security measures.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a secure and inclusive digital environment.
  • Experience in a Church of England school or similar setting.
