Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, with a focus on student progress and attainment.
  • Inspire students with a love of music through a wide range of genres, including classical and contemporary.
  • Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage all learners and support their academic and disciplinary development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to the development of the music department.
  • Manage and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and positive behaviour.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
  • Utilise the school’s excellent facilities, including dedicated music and recording studios.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
  • Proven experience in teaching music to students aged 11–18.
  • Strong knowledge of a wide range of musical genres and styles.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with music production and use of a recording studio.
  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 5 music.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular music activities.
