The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Japanese Teacher to deliver high-quality education to students at both First and Second Language levels. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds in a supportive and collaborative environment, with a focus on innovation and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Japanese lessons to students across multiple grade levels, including Foundation IGCSE, IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme
  • Collaborate with faculty members to ensure consistent standards in curriculum planning, assessment, and examination processes
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity
  • Support students with special educational needs and English as a Second Language learners in line with school policy
  • Implement strategies to enhance student learning both inside and outside the classroom
  • Set and mark homework regularly, and provide constructive feedback to students
  • Participate in the marking and moderation of the IB Extended Essay component
  • Attend parent conferences and maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress
  • Uphold the school's behavior code, uniform regulations, and commitment to its Catholic and Lasallian ethos

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Japanese
  • Ability to teach both First and Second Language levels
  • Commitment to the school's Catholic and Lasallian values
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in curriculum planning and assessment

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an international school setting
  • IB or A-Level teaching experience
  • Experience with students with special educational needs or English as a Second Language learners
  • Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching methods
