Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective courses and lessons tailored to the needs of Key Stage 1 students.
  • Teach, assess, and report on the progress and attainment of boys assigned to you.
  • Promote the general progress and wellbeing of individual students and groups.
  • Provide guidance and support to boys on educational and social matters.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with external bodies and professionals.
  • Participate in meetings, school trips, and co-curricular activities such as sport, music, and drama.
  • Contribute to the pastoral system and act as a tutor to a Form Group.
  • Maintain discipline, health, and safety standards among students both on and off campus.
  • Support the development of teaching methods, curriculum, and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 1 education.
  • Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong pastoral focus.
  • Familiarity with co-curricular activities and student leadership programs.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language or other specialist subjects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
