The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and innovative Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team on a one-year contract. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering a well-rounded education and providing exceptional pastoral care. The successful candidate will play a key role in the school’s transition to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in English, mathematics, and other subjects as directed.
- Support the school’s transition to the PYP framework by implementing its core principles in the classroom.
- Provide excellent pastoral care and build strong relationships with students.
- Collaborate with the Pedagogical Leadership Team and colleagues on curriculum design and teaching practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s research and development initiatives.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and planning sessions to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Support students in developing a growth mindset and a love for learning.
- Assist in the delivery of extracurricular activities and school events as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 2 education.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and mathematics.
- Commitment to the school’s values of virtue, learning, and manners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
- Ability to teach Spanish, science, or design technology (including food).
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
- Background in research or professional development initiatives.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching practices and curriculum design.
