The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team on a one-year contract. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering a well-rounded education and providing exceptional pastoral care. The successful candidate will play a key role in the school’s transition to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in English, mathematics, and other subjects as directed.
  • Support the school’s transition to the PYP framework by implementing its core principles in the classroom.
  • Provide excellent pastoral care and build strong relationships with students.
  • Collaborate with the Pedagogical Leadership Team and colleagues on curriculum design and teaching practices.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s research and development initiatives.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and planning sessions to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Support students in developing a growth mindset and a love for learning.
  • Assist in the delivery of extracurricular activities and school events as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 2 education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and mathematics.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of virtue, learning, and manners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
  • Ability to teach Spanish, science, or design technology (including food).
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Background in research or professional development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching practices and curriculum design.
