As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen, supporting food preparation and ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment. This is an essential role in a school committed to providing high-quality catering services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and wash up all kitchen and service items in an efficient manner.
• Assist in the preparation of food as required by the Head Chef.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Operate heavy equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions (full training provided).
• Attend health and safety and food safety training courses as required.
• Maintain cleaning areas to company and COSHH standards.
• Follow unit cleaning schedules rigorously.
• Support the school during evening and weekend events as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in a kitchen or similar environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.
• Commitment to health and safety and food hygiene standards.
• Reliable and punctual with a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or catering setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Experience with cleaning equipment and heavy lifting.
