Pastoral Manager needed to support student wellbeing and behaviour at a school.

The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student lives while working within a dynamic and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic, emotional, social, and behaviour support to identified students.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions to address academic and pastoral needs.
  • Encourage and model resilience, positive learning attitudes, and excellent behaviour.
  • Track attendance, academic progress, and pastoral concerns, addressing issues promptly.
  • Act as a central point of contact for pastoral matters within the year group.
  • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, maintaining accurate records of interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work towards Level 2 vocational qualifications or demonstrate specialist skills.
  • Competence with IT tools, strong communication, and organisational skills.
  • Physical ability to handle manual tasks and work collaboratively.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral support or student welfare.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
