The Opportunity:

As a KS5 Phase Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral experiences of students in Key Stage 5. This is a senior middle leadership role that requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and a passion for student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support student progress, attainment, attendance, and wellbeing across KS5.
  • Analyse data to evaluate outcomes, inform decisions, and report to senior leadership.
  • Lead and mentor tutors and Heads of Year, ensuring high standards of teaching and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment opportunities, and character education development.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance procedures, including lesson observations and homework monitoring.
  • Set and monitor challenging targets for the phase, and plan interventions where necessary.
  • Support staff development, performance management, and professional learning within the phase.
  • Organise and manage reporting, parents’ evenings, and celebration assemblies to engage students and families.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong ability to manage and motivate a team of staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a year group or phase.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student wellbeing support.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and performance management processes.
