The Opportunity:

As a Sports Coach for Girls, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality sports programme that inspires and engages students. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and collaborative environment, while contributing to the development of young athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PE Faculty with administrative, organisational, and technical tasks.
  • Coach, officiate, and support lessons, clubs, and fixtures across a range of sports including rugby, football, hockey, netball, and summer sports.
  • Take responsibility for teams on match days, including some weekend commitments.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of curricular and extracurricular sport across the school.
  • Arrange and confirm fixtures, produce fixture lists, and liaise with other schools.
  • Support the organisation of events such as sports days, competitions, and open events.
  • Prepare, maintain, and store sports equipment and team kits.
  • Conduct safety checks and risk assessments in line with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A sport science or related qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience coaching and participating across a range of sports.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with children and young people.
  • Ability to manage groups positively and promote high standards of behaviour.
  • Good ICT skills to support administration, assessment, and record keeping.
  • A proactive, resilient, and team-focused approach.

Preferred

  • Experience coaching young people aged 11–18.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Confidence coaching both boys’ and girls’ sport.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and school systems such as iSAMS.
