Summary:

Lead Design and Technology Technician required for September 2026. Support the Art & Design Department and lead the DT team.

The Opportunity:

A Lead Design and Technology Technician is needed to support the Art & Design Department and lead the DT team. This role is integral to ensuring a first-class education by providing necessary materials, equipment, and administrative support. The successful candidate will be part of a newly opened, growing school with exceptional facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain DT equipment and materials across multiple specialisms.
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and ensure students have access to all necessary resources.
  • Undertake specialist training in DT machinery and Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene.
  • Provide administrative support to the Art & Design Department and DT team.
  • Collaborate with staff, students, and external agencies to maintain a secure and pleasant learning environment.
  • Identify and address any issues proactively within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all areas of the school.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of practical lessons where required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Willingness to undergo specialist training in DT machinery and Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work and a commitment to student well-being.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.

Preferred

  • Passion for Food Technology or experience in the field.
  • Ability to support across multiple DT specialisms including Resistant Materials and Art.
  • Experience in a leadership or team management role.
  • Background in education or related fields.
