The Opportunity:

A Learning Assistant is needed to support a pupil with ASD and ADHD on a one-to-one basis. This is a temporary role with the potential for long-term impact, offering a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a pupil with ASD and ADHD through one-to-one assistance.
  • Work closely with the teaching team to implement the pupil’s EHCP provision.
  • Provide a safe, encouraging, and structured environment for the pupil.
  • Assist with academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure consistency in support.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Promote positive behavior and encourage independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience or understanding of supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD.
  • A genuine passion for working with children in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Learning Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience with EHCP provision or individualized learning plans.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
