The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them thrive through individual and small group teaching. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs through 1:1 and small group teaching.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Learning Support and other staff to identify and meet students’ needs.
  • Promote inclusive practices across the school and ensure all students have access to quality learning experiences.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to student needs.
  • Provide regular updates and communication with parents and colleagues on student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and strategies that support inclusive education.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering extra-curricular activities that support student engagement and growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in working with students with special educational needs.
  • Proven ability to deliver 1:1 and small group support sessions.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and holistic development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a focus on pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with curriculum design and differentiated instruction.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and tools for students with special needs.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
