The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them integrate fully into the school environment. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students while working in a supportive and inspiring educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can participate fully in all school activities.
  • Develop trusting, supportive relationships with students and understand their individual learning needs.
  • Encourage independence and inclusion in all areas of school life, supporting academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support Team and class teachers to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Prepare and deliver materials that align with the general curriculum and IEP goals.
  • Support the integration of external therapy recommendations under the guidance of the Student Support Coordinator.
  • Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with children who have barriers to learning.
  • Organized with strong time management and planning skills.
  • A recognized teaching qualification, including a Bachelor’s Degree and PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma.
  • Full-time availability for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or teaching support roles.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
