The Opportunity:

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting inquiry-based learning within the IB Primary Years Programme. You will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with students and colleagues.
• Prepare learning materials, organise resources, and plan small-group activities.
• Assist during lessons by supporting individuals or groups to extend or reinforce learning.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Contribute to classroom management and help maintain a purposeful, organised learning space.
• Support assessment by observing students, documenting learning, and providing verbal feedback.
• Use tools such as Seesaw to assist in recording and communicating student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with children in a teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or assisting capacity.
• Coursework or a degree in a relevant field.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to support students’ development.
• Comfort with using technology to support teaching and learning.
• Already living in Amsterdam and eligible to work in The Netherlands.

Preferred

• Experience in a PYP or international school environment.
• Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
• A Bachelor of Education or equivalent for teaching up opportunities.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
