Summary:

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils by providing individualised support and helping them overcome learning barriers. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning needs through one-to-one and small group sessions
  • Assist with lesson delivery and learning activities in a structured and supportive manner
  • Prepare and manage learning resources tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes, promoting positive behaviour
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapy staff, and pastoral teams to support pupil development
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing school environment
  • Support pupils in accessing work experience and further education opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs or in a support role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

Preferred

  • Experience in SEN or ASC environments
  • Previous experience in education or customer-facing industries
  • Knowledge of educational awards and curriculum support
  • Experience with Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, or outdoor learning activities
