The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with autism and additional needs, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. You will work closely with a dedicated team to deliver engaging lessons and create positive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism and complex needs
  • Prepare and maintain learning materials and resources
  • Promote emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent approach
  • Assist in creating stimulating, hands-on learning experiences
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans
  • Support pupils in accessing work experience and other educational opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with autism or additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of autism and special educational needs
  • Experience with curriculum development or lesson planning
  • Experience with Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, or outdoor activities education
