The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join its successful Science Department. The role offers the opportunity to teach Science across the age range, with a focus on Key Stage 4 and 5. The successful candidate will be part of a team that consistently delivers strong academic results and supports student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on Chemistry.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage students and promote deep understanding of the subject.
- Support students in achieving excellent results, with a focus on GCSE and A-level qualifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective Science curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Participate in the full range of school activities, including extra-curricular events and pastoral support.
- Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience teaching Science, with a focus on Chemistry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to student welfare and behaviour management.
- Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-level Science qualifications.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5 Chemistry.
- Experience with the Triple Science pathway.
- Experience in delivering Level 3 Diplomas in Medical Science.
- Experience in using a range of teaching and learning strategies.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
