Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students across Years 7-8, ensuring a strong foundation in the subject.
- Monitor and support student progress, providing targeted interventions where necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and develop innovative teaching strategies.
- Lead and support the Achievement Leader role, overseeing academic progress and behaviour for the year group.
- Work closely with middle and senior leaders to enhance student achievement and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring alignment with school and national standards.
- Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate, in line with the school’s commitment to student wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Chemistry teaching at Key Stage 3.
- Proven ability to lead and support a team of staff within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student achievement and pastoral care.
- Experience in developing and delivering high-quality lessons.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a school or educational setting.
- Experience with external candidates and subject specialism in Chemistry.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement initiatives.
- Experience in supporting student transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
