The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and classroom resources
  • Contribute to assessments, target setting, and record keeping
  • Support statutory reviews and contribute to important reports
  • Collaborate with therapists and professionals to implement specialist approaches
  • Observe and record student progress to support development
  • Supervise students during mealtimes and recreational activities
  • Assist with risk assessments and educational visits

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified with GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to supporting children with diverse needs
  • Professional, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching or supporting students with special educational needs
  • Experience with autism and associated conditions
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Experience with classroom management and behaviour support
