The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Headteacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Headteacher and driving excellence in teaching, learning, and pastoral care. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Headteacher in fostering a positive school culture and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
- Lead the implementation of a broad, balanced curriculum tailored to meet the complex needs of students
- Develop and oversee effective behaviour management strategies aligned with the school’s values and trauma-informed practices
- Collaborate with the SENDCO to ensure inclusive, personalised learning plans and statutory compliance for students with special educational needs
- Assist in the operational management of the school, including staffing, resources, and compliance
- Represent the school at meetings and events as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven leadership experience in a special school or complex educational setting
- Strong understanding of Ofsted inspection framework, safeguarding, and SEND procedures
- Ability to lead and motivate staff while upholding professional conduct
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in trauma-informed practice
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Experience in school leadership and management
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £45,000 to £60,000
