The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential classroom support to pupils under the guidance of teachers, helping to inspire and motivate learners. This role is vital in ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs, receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to pupils under the direction of the teacher.
  • Encourage, motivate and inspire learners to reach their potential.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs in line with the school's policies and practices.
  • Assist students with traveling to lessons where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to enhance student learning.
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Contribute to the overall school environment by upholding the school's values and ethos.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching and support practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and GCSE English (Grade C or Grade 4 and above).
  • Experience of working in a school environment or a strong desire to work in a school setting.
  • The ability to motivate students and a commitment to making a positive contribution to their education.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with special educational needs.
  • Previous experience in a learning support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering support within a Christian ethos environment.
