The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and delivering a rigorous Mathematics curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum. You will inspire students from Year 5 to 10, preparing them for IGCSE Mathematics and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a rigorous and engaging Mathematics curriculum in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
- Teach Mathematics across a range of ages, from Year 6 through to IGCSE, inspiring curiosity and critical thinking.
- Support students in preparing for IGCSE Mathematics, delivering a well-structured and challenging course.
- Create and implement lesson plans and assessments that cater to diverse learning needs, including EAL learners.
- Provide formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide learning.
- Teach a second subject, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science, up to Key Stage 3 or 4.
- Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students' personal and social development.
- Engage in extracurricular activities, leading mathematical clubs, STEM projects, and competitions.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum three years of teaching experience within an international school environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, PGCE, NIE Diploma) or a valid Teacher Licence / QTS.
- Strong knowledge and experience in delivering the Mathematics curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
- Experience working with EAL learners and supporting language acquisition in Science.
- Proven capability in curriculum development and team leadership.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Experience teaching Mathematics to students aged 10–16, with familiarity in preparing for IGCSE or equivalent exams.
Preferred
- Ability to teach a second subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science) up to Key Stage 3 or 4.
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within the Mathematics Department.
- Strong understanding of concept-based and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Passion for integrating Mathematics into the wider curriculum.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and global-mindedness.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology and multimedia tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics.
