The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and adaptable Physics Teacher to join its expanding Senior School. This role offers the chance to shape the Science Department and deliver engaging lessons in Physics, preparing students for IGCSE and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a rigorous and engaging Physics curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
- Teach Physics to students from Year 6 through to IGCSE, inspiring curiosity and critical thinking.
- Support students in preparing for IGCSE Physics examinations with a well-structured course.
- Create and implement lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Provide formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Teach a second scientific subject up to Key Stage 3 or 4, where applicable.
- Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and fostering student personal development.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and address any concerns promptly.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and technology to enhance science learning.
- Contribute to the extracurricular programme by leading science clubs and STEM activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in an international school environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education with a recognised teaching qualification or valid Teacher Licence.
- Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and experience in inquiry-based learning.
- Experience working with EAL learners and supporting language acquisition in science.
- Proven curriculum development experience and ability to lead a team.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics and experience teaching students aged 10–16.
Preferred
- Ability to teach a second scientific subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science).
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a Science Department.
- Strong understanding of concept-based and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Passion for integrating Physics into cross-curricular and STEM initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and global-mindedness.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology and multimedia tools in science teaching.
