The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure continued improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance departmental teaching and learning strategies.
  • Engage in the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum that goes beyond national expectations.
  • Support the school’s commitment to extra-curricular learning through involvement in maths-related activities and events.
  • Contribute to the development of students’ wider skills and personal growth through pastoral support and mentorship.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practice.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support student achievement and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Maths.
  • Proven experience in teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities within the department.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a high-performing school or multi-academy trust.
  • Experience of delivering extra-curricular activities or maths competitions.
  • Familiarity with maths-specific teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
