The Opportunity:

As Medical Lead, you will be responsible for the health and wellbeing of over 900 students across both the Junior and Senior schools. This role combines immediate clinical care with long-term pastoral impact, offering a unique opportunity to shape a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first aid provision and respond to medical emergencies with calm and professionalism.
  • Lead on care plans for students with ongoing health conditions, ensuring consistent and effective support.
  • Train staff in health and safety protocols, building a culture of preparedness and care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health policies across the school.
  • Oversee key programmes such as immunisations and health education initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Head Pastoral and leadership team to support student wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the school in promoting a culture of health, safety and student-centred care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong clinical judgement and experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Proven ability to work calmly under pressure and with young people.
  • Experience in first aid, nursing, or a similar clinical role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Experience in school or educational settings, particularly with student wellbeing.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in educational environments.
  • Experience with health policy development or implementation.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
