The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join our Sixth Form team and contribute to the school’s pastoral care and safeguarding initiatives. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives and support their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Sixth Form team in managing student welfare and pastoral care
- Coordinate and deliver the school’s pastoral intervention programme
- Assist safeguarding leads with operational safeguarding matters
- Monitor and support students who require additional pastoral support
- Work closely with staff and students to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to students in need of emotional or academic assistance
- Maintain accurate records and reports relating to pastoral care and safeguarding
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a pastoral support role within an educational setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Commitment to the welfare and development of young people
- Experience working with students in a school environment
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, ideally within the Sixth Form
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation
- Experience with pastoral intervention programmes
- Background in supporting vulnerable students
- Experience in managing student records and reports
