The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join our Sixth Form team and contribute to the school’s pastoral care and safeguarding initiatives. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives and support their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sixth Form team in managing student welfare and pastoral care
  • Coordinate and deliver the school’s pastoral intervention programme
  • Assist safeguarding leads with operational safeguarding matters
  • Monitor and support students who require additional pastoral support
  • Work closely with staff and students to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to students in need of emotional or academic assistance
  • Maintain accurate records and reports relating to pastoral care and safeguarding

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral support role within an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of young people
  • Experience working with students in a school environment

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, ideally within the Sixth Form
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation
  • Experience with pastoral intervention programmes
  • Background in supporting vulnerable students
  • Experience in managing student records and reports
