The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Modern Foreign Languages lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes language acquisition, cultural awareness, and linguistic confidence.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through differentiated instruction and personalized learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and promote a whole-school approach to language learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the broader life of the school, including co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior leadership.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in language teaching and educational research.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 3 or 4.
  • Familiarity with international curricula, such as the IB Diploma.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Leadership experience or a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in more than one modern foreign language.
