The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher to join our school and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students aged 11–16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, inclusive education and support students in achieving meaningful vocational qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and develop the curriculum to meet students’ educational, physical, and social needs through effective planning and teaching.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Set, monitor, and review personalised targets and report on student progress in line with statutory requirements.
- Plan structured, motivating lessons and reflect on outcomes to improve teaching practice continuously.
- Contribute to reviews such as Statements, EHCPs, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
- Stay up-to-date with current autism practice through professional development and training.
- Support curriculum development and model high standards of conduct and professional relationships.
- Manage delegated budgets and address challenging behaviour using school policies in a non-confrontational manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with students with ASC and SEND
- Experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a wide range of needs
- Ability to teach across a range of subjects
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and student assessment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with professional development and training in autism education
