The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher to join our school and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students aged 11–16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, inclusive education and support students in achieving meaningful vocational qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and develop the curriculum to meet students’ educational, physical, and social needs through effective planning and teaching.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and external professionals.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised targets and report on student progress in line with statutory requirements.
  • Plan structured, motivating lessons and reflect on outcomes to improve teaching practice continuously.
  • Contribute to reviews such as Statements, EHCPs, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date with current autism practice through professional development and training.
  • Support curriculum development and model high standards of conduct and professional relationships.
  • Manage delegated budgets and address challenging behaviour using school policies in a non-confrontational manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with students with ASC and SEND
  • Experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a wide range of needs
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and student assessment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with professional development and training in autism education
