The Opportunity:

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and inspire students across the Lower and Middle School in music and performing arts. As a Music Teacher and Head of Performing Arts, you will shape the creative and cultural life of the school, delivering high-quality instruction and leading vibrant extracurricular programs that engage students of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality Music lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and IGCSE/IB (where applicable).
  • Teach Music across the entire school, from Early Years through to Secondary, fostering progression and development.
  • Lead and develop choirs, ensembles, instrumental groups, and extracurricular music clubs.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality concerts, recitals, and whole-school performances.
  • Promote a strong culture of participation in music and performance across the school community.
  • Differentiate effectively to support mixed-attainment groups, ensuring challenge and engagement for all learners.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations, where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular initiatives and whole-school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Inspiring, creative, and enthusiastic Music educator with a passion for whole-school engagement.
  • Experience teaching Music across a broad age range (Early Years to Secondary).
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality performances and developing vibrant musical programmes.
  • Confidence in leading choirs, ensembles, and instrumental initiatives.
  • Experience preparing students for public performances and examinations (IGCSE/IB experience desirable).
  • Commitment to high academic standards alongside creativity and performance excellence.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and keen to contribute to the wider life of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in leadership roles within performing arts or music education.
  • Background in curriculum development or extracurricular programme management.
  • Familiarity with international curricula such as IGCSE or IB.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, international environment.
