Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning policies.
  • Use performance data to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Set and mark home learning in line with the school’s policies and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress and development.
  • Participate in school events, such as Open Evenings and Celebration Events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, support departmental goals, and contribute to improvement plans.
  • Support students’ personal and academic growth through effective teaching and behaviour management strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in music and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Experience in using data to inform teaching and improve student outcomes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading extracurricular music activities or ensembles.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital resources.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student mentoring.
