The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Visiting Organ Teacher to deliver exceptional music education to students. This role will involve one-to-one lessons, ensemble support, and coaching, helping students achieve their full potential in music examinations and performances. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and well-equipped Music Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one lessons to students of all ages and abilities.
  • Support ensembles and provide coaching as required.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Instrument and the Director of Music.
  • Encourage students to reach their full potential in music examinations and performances.
  • Contribute to the school’s musical and cultural environment through participation in events and performances.
  • Maintain and develop the school’s strong tradition of excellence in music education.
  • Work within a well-resourced Music Department, including access to three organs and a comprehensive Music Library.
  • Promote a positive and inspiring learning environment for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified music teacher with a strong background in organ performance and pedagogy.
  • Experience in teaching at a school or college level.
  • Ability to prepare students for music examinations and performance assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of music in students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college music department.
  • Familiarity with a range of musical styles and performance practices.
  • Experience with ensemble coaching and performance preparation.
  • Knowledge of music technology and digital teaching tools.
