The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and driven Residential Assistant Sports Coach to deliver high-quality sport and PE programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or undergraduates interested in sports coaching or teaching. The role offers a 12-month fixed-term contract with generous CPD opportunities and on-site accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first-class team and specialist 1-1 coaching in sports such as netball, hockey, rugby, cricket or strength and conditioning.
  • Assist with pastoral duties and contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
  • Support pupils in developing a lifelong interest and love of sport.
  • Collaborate with the Sports Department to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and engaging sports programme.
  • Participate in coaching across a range of sports throughout the academic year.
  • Engage with students in a positive and motivating manner to encourage participation and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Higher Education qualification or currently working towards a degree.
  • Experience in playing and coaching sport to a high standard.
  • Passion for sport and a commitment to developing young athletes.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Specialisation in two sports from netball, hockey, rugby, cricket or strength and conditioning.
  • Experience in teaching or a desire to develop teaching skills.
  • Knowledge of a range of sports and the ability to coach multiple sports.
  • Experience with child protection and safeguarding procedures.
