The Opportunity:

As a Musical Theatre Teacher, you will inspire students at all levels of ability, developing their skills in acting, singing, and performance. You will play a key role in a thriving Drama Department, delivering lessons that are both challenging and engaging, and preparing students for performances, showcases, and examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality musical theatre lessons across the age range, fostering creativity and technical skill.
  • Prepare students for performances, showcases, and examinations with recognised awarding bodies.
  • Teach a broad range of musical theatre styles, including classic and contemporary works.
  • Support the school’s vibrant co-curricular programme and contribute to the success of the Drama Department.
  • Communicate timetables to students in advance and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Provide one-to-one and group instruction tailored to individual and group needs.
  • Encourage performance confidence, character development, and a love of musical theatre.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching musical theatre to students of varying abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of a wide range of musical theatre styles and repertoire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students at all levels.
  • Confidence in delivering both group and one-to-one lessons.
  • Experience in preparing students for performances and examinations.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching acting, singing, and movement.
  • Familiarity with examination syllabuses from recognised awarding bodies.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
