The Opportunity:

As a Netball Assistant, you will coach netball as a primary sport while supporting other sports and administrative tasks in a dynamic sports department. This is a temporary role with potential for extension and future career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach netball as a primary sport, focusing on skill development and team performance.
  • Support the delivery of the Activity for Life and PE programmes across all age groups.
  • Assist with administration in a busy sports department.
  • Collaborate with professional sports coaches and PE staff to enhance student engagement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in a co-educational boarding school setting.
  • Contribute to the broader curriculum by participating in a wide range of sports and activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all sports-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the sports department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Graduate or undergraduate status with a strong interest in coaching sports.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an independent co-educational boarding school.
  • Ability to work with students across a wide range of age groups.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to undertake pre-employment checks, including DBS and medical assessments.

Preferred

  • Previous coaching or teaching experience, especially in sports.
  • Experience with Activity for Life or PE programmes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with sports administration or event coordination.
  • Knowledge of multiple sports, including cricket, athletics, swimming, rugby, hockey, football, or basketball.
