The Opportunity:
As a Netball Assistant, you will coach netball as a primary sport while supporting other sports and administrative tasks in a dynamic sports department. This is a temporary role with potential for extension and future career development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach netball as a primary sport, focusing on skill development and team performance.
- Support the delivery of the Activity for Life and PE programmes across all age groups.
- Assist with administration in a busy sports department.
- Collaborate with professional sports coaches and PE staff to enhance student engagement.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in a co-educational boarding school setting.
- Contribute to the broader curriculum by participating in a wide range of sports and activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all sports-related activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the sports department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Graduate or undergraduate status with a strong interest in coaching sports.
- Enthusiasm for working in an independent co-educational boarding school.
- Ability to work with students across a wide range of age groups.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment checks, including DBS and medical assessments.
Preferred
- Previous coaching or teaching experience, especially in sports.
- Experience with Activity for Life or PE programmes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with sports administration or event coordination.
- Knowledge of multiple sports, including cricket, athletics, swimming, rugby, hockey, football, or basketball.
